Two guys (Dave and Joe) worked hard and, when time permitted, they antiqued hard. They felt a void in their own area of Saugatuck/Douglas Michigan for a large antique center. Already in the business of real estate investments, the idea of opening their own antique mall was really just a merger of one of their favorite past-times and their livelihood.

They liked the Blue Star Highway in the Saugatuck/Douglas area for its traffic but also for its feel as this area's own version of a "Route 66", which still has some of that charming mom & pop influence from prior decades. They wanted a large facility. They wanted to incorporate the word 'Pavilion' to pay tribute to the old waterfront entertainment Pavilion that burned down in Saugatuck in 1963. They wanted a place for locals to benefit from, as well as a place for tourist's and die-hard antiquers to enjoy." It didn't take long to realize that the former Hansen Manufacturing facility, with it's 50,000 square feet of blank (but greasy) space was the place! The building was purchased, "mountains were moved", and just 3 months later, on July 1 of 2004 the doors were officially opened to the BLUE STAR ANTIQUE PAVILION. (BSAP)

They now have over 175 dealer booths of quality antiques, collectibles and consignments, with dealers from Detroit to Chicago! "We are very pleased to have the great group of dealers that we have and we attribute much of our success to them! They are really out there getting great stuff and having fun doing it!"

The BLUE STAR ANTIQUE PAVILION was named the BEST of the BEST Antique Mall in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin by Lake Magazine (July 2005), and unofficially by many others found standing in front of the check-out counter! BSAP also plays host to special events and fundraisers. In season, you'll find a few local farmers/growers set up with a stand of their fresh fruits and vegetables.

Bring your clock in for a free repair estimate, or stop by and browse the wide variety of clocks available for purchase. Winebrenner Clock Service has more than 80 clocks on hand of all types including alarm, novelty, 400-day, mantel and wall clocks, electric and key-wind, and a large selection of cuckoo clocks!
